I got really busy doing HTML and web development so it left me little time to work on my artistic side, unless they let me make some banners or something. I'm finally getting back into it. I just this last Tuesday unwrapped my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet that I got for Christmas. So far not so good. When I draw with it in Photoshop it just doesn't feel like a real pencil to me at all. The lines seem to always come out blurred, to thick or to light. I'm testing out new brushes and all that but so far I haven't had much luck. Drawing on a piece of paper however has gotten better. Shading is what I'm working on for now. I finally sketched a face that actually looked ok, still not DA worthy but a start.
I'm watching a lot of different tutorials on Photoshop and drawing. A few from Houseoftutorials.net
[link]. I'm really liking them. I was able to take a free cartoon character, color it, then shade it and it turned out pretty good. I know right now practice is the key so Im going to just stay with it and try and get better at it. Right now I'm only putting in 2-3 hours a day, hoping to put in more over the weekend. I hope to one day be as good as some of the others on here.
Not sure if anyone will actually read this but for me its just nice to update this and come back and see were I was. I'm going to upload some of the stuff Im working on into my scraps area so I can take a look how I have progressed in a few months. Well I'm off for now! Peace!
